BAILE FAVELA
Here at 101 Apparel we have been vibing on Brazilian music for many years now, whether that means traditional jazz, samba, bossa nova, and tropical records to the modern incarnation that is known as Baile Funk. Those first Diplo mixtapes that hit the streets a few years back that came as a result of his travels to the Rio favelas are now classics of the genre and a worthy document to the global bass movement. This design is inspired by that gritty raw party rocking sound that has grown in spades since those early mixtapes and the culture that birthed it. Thi shirt has the text “Baile Favela Carioca Funk” in a unique font layered on top of an outline of a map of Brazil with records drawn in as citypoints. This one is for th Brazilian music heads, international bass junkies, and those with a keen eye for modern design.
