THE ROOTS OF DUB
The Roots of Dub pays tribute to the artists that brought dub music onto the table when producers wanted to make the reggae tracks they were making a more interesting affair. The originators include but are not limited to King Tubby, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Errol Thompson. The influence that dub music and it’s studio techniques have had on modern music is undeniable. Everything from post punk to disco, from dub-step to house has taken dub as it’s influence and crafted it into something lasting and unique. The heavy use of tape loops, delay and reverb on vocals and drums, thick watery bass textures, and ambient atmosphere has given dub and it’s acolytes an unmistakable allure and sound. This design has the text “Roots of Dub” with the images of dub plates around the dub record inspired font.
